I have been doing a bible study with the ladies at my church. It’s the Light 1 series from Neighborhood Bible Studies To Go. This series focuses on Jesus and how he is the light and how we need to focus on Him if we are to be effective in this world.
The Light study is divided into four groups of 8 weeks and we’ve been doing the first set of weeks. This section’s focus is about people meeting Jesus, we’ve read stories about how Jesus has healed a blind man, how he ministered to the woman at the well, how he helped a widow, how He called Matthew and others. The thing that’s struck me in studying Jesus through the passages is the phrase…He saw. He saw the widow woman, He saw Matthew, He saw…He saw…He saw.
This struck me because He saw them and He sees me too. I know this in my mind but sometimes things take longer to get into the heart. He sees me. He sees you.
This may not be comforting to some to know that the all-knowing God of the universe sees you but it is very comforting. It is comforting because if you look at Him as a loving Father, which He is, then you know His desires for you and the things He does is for your good. The bible says,
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
Yes, God He does discipline us as a loving Father to His child but that discipline is to teach us so we can be a shiny reflection of His grace to the world. He sees that you are hurting, He sees you when you are struggling, He sees your joys…He sees all of it and He has a plan in place to help you through whatever it is you are dealing with.
He knows exactly what you need…when you need it. Allow Him to reveal His love to you.
How has God shown you that He sees you? Please share in the comments below.
